Alex, soon to be seven, must save his Auntie Lexie from the witch Evilette. She holds Auntie in the magical Gemstar Hotel and tries to take away her enchanted The Book of All Answers. Whoever reads it makes only wise decisions.
No grown-ups can enter the hotel and help Alex. Fortunately, he is not alone. He teams up with the awesome and talented rat Ratilda. She conjures both of them into the hotel to face Evilette’s mighty guard, the giant cat Bazilio, and the witch herself.
